As we head into the last few weeks of 2018, I am starting to worry about the things I had on my “to do” list for this year that I’ve still not completed. One part of me wants to just say, “To heck with it, the year is almost over, I’ll start over in January.” It would be so much easier to just “coast” to the end of the year. However, there’s another voice in my head that’s telling me that two weeks is a LOT of time and a LOT can be accomplished in that time frame. Therefore, I’m making a commitment to myself to see how many of my to-do list items I can check off before the year ends. My over-riding goal for doing this is to start 2019 fresh- with new goals and objectives.
What unfinished business can you check off your list so that you can begin 2019 with a clean slate?
This week, take some time today to re-assess your accomplishments from 2018 and identify those things you wanted to achieve, but haven’t yet finished. Can you still get some of them done? What’s your plan? Checking off just a few more items will help you start 2019 with at least a cleaner slate. Finally, if some of the things you haven’t accomplished are things you’ve been procrastinating, take a close look at them. Maybe it’s time to re-assess whether they’re really things that you wanted or needed to do, or whether they were someone else’s goals or unnecessary clutter. If so, perhaps it’s time to let them go.
