As we head into the last month of 2016, I was thinking about the things I had on my “to do” list for this year that I’ve still not completed. With just a few weeks left and 5 full-day training classes still to come, it would be easy to just coast to the end of the year. However, I’m going to spend today setting some short-term goals and see how many of my to-do list items I can check off before the year ends. My over-riding goal for doing this is to start 2017 fresh- with new goals and objectives.
What unfinished business can you check off your list so that you can begin 2017 with a clean slate?
This week, take some time today to re-assess your accomplishments from 2016 and identify those things you wanted to, but didn’t yet achieve. Can you still get some of them done? What’s your plan? Even being able to check off a few more items will help you start 2017 with at least a cleaner slate. Finally, for those things you procrastinated, maybe it’s time to re-assess whether those things are really things that you wanted or needed to do, or whether they were someone else’s goals or unnecessary clutter. If so, maybe it’s time to let them go.
